Don't.

You could use a flat iron, or a straightening iron ... once in awhile. If you really must.

Far better would be to find a style that works with your waves. I KNOW ... mine is wavy, too ... what a pain to have to style it every day.

You can use that wavy volume in your under-layers to give your 'do some structure ... and just use the straightening iron on the top layers for smoothness. Try it. You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to just work the surface.

A tip .... on days that it doesn't matter, give your hair a break. Only style it up when you need to. Most days, slap a good conditioner into it, and leave it in if you can. Especially on the ends, and get regular trims ... even though you don't want to lose the length, a good trim will help you keep your hair healthy.

i love my Chi straightener... i use the Ion protector stuff to keep it from getting fried, and i use a comb to make sure i'm not just flattening in knots
