I have wavy hair thats frizzy whats the best way to relax it.?

I'm not sure of the price range. Or how damaging it will be but I'm tired of spending hours straightening. A friend told me it'd cost about 100 dollars but thats a bit pricey isn't it?

well if your hair is really frizzy then you should get some heavy starch (preferably lemon it will make your hair smell better) then get a hot iron then iron your hair!!! that should really help. and it will be Hurricane, wind tested at 150 mph. good luck!!!!

Get a good straightener and straighten it everyday and use a sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner

The straightener will cost between $40.00 and $50.00 but they last a long time!

Why bother straightening at all? Just get some products that will control the frizz. I use Matrix Sleek Look sometimes. It seems to help with the frizz. Avoid any products that make your hair feel dry, try creams and deep conditioners. Also let your hair air dry and avoid heat. I went through a phase of straightening my hair and I find it much easier to work with the wave, by keeping it well moisturized.

I don't know what kind of hair you have Jennifer. I have curly hair that's really frizzy and what I do is after I shower I just lightly towel my hair and then I put Pantene conditioner through my hair using my fingers. I just finger comb my hair. I won't brush it 'cuz brushing separates the strands making the hair fuller (in a poofy 80's way) and frizzier. I also wash my hair with conditioner everyday and only shampoo it once a week. That's okay to do, if you shampoo everyday you'll dry up you hair and if you don't shampoo often enough you'll get residue in your hair.

If you like straight hair, try to find a place that does Japanese straightening. And ask people who did it, then you know what kind of results to expect. But its usually very expensive.

I know some Indian women who've gotten their hair relaxed, it doesn't really look any different, its a waste of money. And they still have to work so hard to style their hair.

I think its because they use a weaker strength relaxer on women who are not African American. My sister, whose Indian, brought the relaxer for African American women and used it at home and it caused her hair to fall out. So if you hair isn't that coarse they won't use such a strong relaxer and it won't really make a difference.

Try the conditioner, Pantene, its not a leave in conditioner either, its just the normal conditioner. Everyone looked at me weird when I did it, but then when they tried it, they were like wow.

Soon all my friends were stacking up on Pantene conditioner.

Good Luck, Take Care, With Love and Prayers, Smitha

My hair is mostly wavy, with curls underneath, and I have frizzy days myself. When I go out, I use hairspray to keep it down. I shampoo nearly every day - condition once a week, maybe twice. If I'm feeling super motivated, I use gel. That saves me money in the long run. If you want to buy straightener, and stuff, it's a lot more money and a lot more hassle in my opinion, but I tend to just go with the flow when my hair acts up.
