use a little bit of hairspray when its wet and dry it slowly with your hair blower with a diffuser - when done run your fingers through it to break up whatever waves might have formed tighter than you wanted them to. its best to do this at night and then sleep on it so that way the next day you can just flip your head a few times - while upside down spray some hairspray on the underside of your hair to add volume, and then your good to go. :)

I use TIGI volumizing lotion and blow dry my hair in small sections with a one-inch diameter ion ceramic round brush. After my hair is dry, I use a fine mist hairspray underneath my hair, tease the top sections with a small-tooth comb, style my hair back down in place with my fingers, and then hairspray my entire style in place. It sounds like a lot, but it only takes a few minutes once you get the hang of it. The other way you can do it is to start with dry hair, lightly spray small to medium section with hairspray, curl each section with a curling iron, and then comb through your hair with your fingers. If you use a curling iron, curl some sections forward and some backward so you get a more natural look. Also, hold some sections in the iron for several seconds and some for just a couple seconds. This gives you both loose and tight curls, which again is more natural looking.

If you want temporary waves (goes back to straight when you wash it) you have several options. But, first after you shampoo put gel in your hair, it will help with holding the curl and add volume. Put extra gel from the roots out about 2 inches, turn your head upside down, brush all the hair towards the floor (from the roots) and blow dry.
Then:
1. Use a large curling iron
2. Use large hot rollers (or small ones but take them out before they cool.
3, Don't blow dry, while still wet set with large plastic rollers (wal-mart) and let air dry.
If you are looking for a permanent solution you would have to go to a salon and get a perm.
3.
