You can get a degree or 2 more curl with some of the following tricks:

1. Don't wash it. Ewww, right? But I've learned that if I only wash my wavy hair as needed (every 5-7 days for me) then I can train some pretty good curl into it.

2. Resist straighten it. I find that it takes about 3 weeks of encouraging curl to get the best results. Straightening even once sends me back to go.

3. Don't wrap in a towel, which pulls out the curl. Instead use the towel the scrunch hair up and blot out water.

4. Buy good salon products. All but ONE of the cheap products I've purchased is relegated to the back of my closet waiting to decompose. My hair is somewhat dry and whispy and I like the following products for fighting frizz and enhancing curl: CurlFriends Gel, Redkin Ringlets, Graham Webb Making Waves and Auquage Curl Defining Creme. The only cheap product I've tried and liked is Frizeeze Curl spray. I use it to touch up limp areas after difusing.

5. Don't brush it out. Your hair will feel tangled and messy when you get out of the shower, but resist picking up the hair brush. That just drags the curl out. Instead, defuse it upside down all tangled, then work them out with fingers after its dry.

6. Let it dry naturally whenever possible. To the healthiest curl, sometimes its good to just let your hair do its own thing. This is where its handy to work from home.

7. Touch up with a wide barrel curling iron.

I'm finding that encouraging my wavy hair is so much better than straightening. And I feel more natural when I let my hair show off its unique beauty. So down with the trends! Its so much less damaging than attacking it with the hair dryer on high and flat irons.
